Hello friends! So, contrary to appearances, we have not actually dropped off the face of the planet. We've been taking it easy these past few months... hopping on the reality train and going to school/working real jobs. But we are back with some great shows coming up! Check out the SHOWS section and pay us a listen.
P.S. The CD is coming soon! We promise :) Love PJs
We're really looking forward to playing at the Glesby Centre in Portage la Prairie on Saturday, November 7th! This will be our first performance at the this beautiful venue and we hope to see you all out there.
Summer sure does fly by! (Not that mother nature gave us much of one). Here we are in late October and it feels like yesterday that we got home.
After wearing down our travelling shoes with 3 cross-continent tours since this time last year (from Ontario to New York to Boston to Halifax to Memphis to Florida and all the way to Vancouver), we are sticking around home for the time being. We're currently keeping extremely busy with our (a little too long) anticipated debut album in the making: complete with a full band backing us up. (fiddle, mandolin, banjo, upright bass, percussion). We're very excited about it and are thrilled to have such fantastic musicians playing with us. The CD is being produced right here in Winnipeg... sticking with our Prairie Roots! The official release will be in the new year. Exact dates TBA.
Before the CD hits the shelf, we'll be posting songs up on our myspace page. It will be available for download on CDBaby and iTunes, as well as being played on CBC Radio 1, 2 and 3.
We're very happy to announce that we will be featured performers on the MTS TV Series Artist Next Door hosted by Rik Leaf. http://justartists.org/..wordpress/?p=9. This episode will take place at our local coffeehouse where we first got our start: Gordie's Coffeehouse http://www.myspace.com/..gordiescoffeehouse. It will be filmed at Gordie's on Wednesday, November 11. It's free and open to the public, so come on down and check it out! Other artists who have been featured in the past are: Twilight Hotel, the Wyrd Sisters, JD Edwards, Cara Luft and Serena Postel. We're honoured to be among such great and talented homegrown company!
Keep your ears and eyes open for more local shows :)
Who forgets to put the gas cap back on the gas tank?? We do, apparently... After 1 hour of driving attempting to try and find somewhere that sells the darn things, we relented and went to *looks shamelessly down* Wal-Mart. Well, it's kind of important when you're driving 24 hours in 2 days.
From Tallahassee to St. Cloud, MN in 2 days, we have covered lots of miles, and met some fantastic people. For the record, www.couchsurfing.com is a MUST DO for anybody travelling on a budget. It's been a godsend to us.
It's amazing how much you think about and learn when you're alone (sort of) to your thoughts on the road. Scheming for next year is for sure happening, along with colaberate efforts with an amazing friend of ours, Brittany Ann. The world better get ready, because the colaberative result will blow your socks off. Think of three best friends, guitars, harmonicas, ukuleles, and beautiful voices. Trust me, we're all excited.
We've had a fantastic time on round one of this trip and are itching to head out to BC for our very first Western Canada tour!
Stay warm! Love PJ
